Lib Dem MP, Lorely Burt joined Solihull resident, Roger Watson in a lobby of Parliament for funding to continue research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy last week.
The 'Race Against Time' lobby presented an open letter to No 10 Downing Street calling for 'action today' to give 'hope for tomorrow' for muscular dystrophy sufferers.
Mr Watson joined hundreds of others in calling for an immediate £5m to continue a joint research project between the UK, Holland and Sweden to develop treatment for the muscle wasting disease.
"Joint research is at a critical stage, and it is vital for the UK to continue to play its part with funding to develop treatment to slow down the effects of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy now. Hundreds of children across the country will benefit in the future so long as the research goes ahead, and it can only continue with government support," said Lorely Burt.
