Lorely Burt MP helps Paul Harrison, her local postie, sort mail at Solihull Sorting Office
Solihull's new MP, Lorely Burt paid her first Christmas visit to Solihull Sorting Office early this evening to thank staff for their efforts in the run up to Christmas. She gave her own postie, Paul Harrison (pictured), a hand with sorting his mail!
Paul, who lives in Olton, has been delivering Lorely's parliamentary packets to her home since she was elected last May.
"It was nice to return the favour by giving Paul a hand, but I think he was a bit surprised to see me at the sorting Office at 7pm in the evening! It was a pleasure to be able to meet many of the 119 Solihull staff who have been bearing the brunt of the Christmas deluge, and thank them personally for all their efforts to get cards out on time again this year," said Mrs Burt.
Lorely was given a tour by Delivery Office Manager, Graham Morris, who said that deliveries from Solihull would reach a peak of 160,000 items a day during the coming week and that he was confident they would all be delivered on time.
