Lorely Burt, Liberal Democrat MP for Solihull and Small Businesses Spokesperson, has welcomed the launch of the 'Nextstep' helpline for those affected by the Peugeot redundancies.
Representatives from the Local LSC, Jobcentre Plus and Coventry Solihull Warwickshire Partnership (CSWP) Ltd are currently meeting with Peugeot to put together a support package for all workers affected by the recent redundancy announcements.
While arrangements are being confirmed, those affected by the redundancies are being asked to contact the 'Nextstep' helpline number 0800 917 1818 to register their details.
As soon as arrangements are confirmed, they will be contacted to discuss particular circumstances and individual needs.
Commenting on the launch of the helpline, Lorely Burt MP said,
"It is vitally important that there is a co-ordinated approach to helping people affected by the Peugeot redundancies take that 'next step'.
"I am supporting this initiative and will work with all the parties involved to ensure that everyone affected is supported and helped to find new fulfilling jobs.
"We must remember, however, that there are other people affected by redundancy as well and we must keep working to ensure that support mechanisms are in place to help everyone back into work."
