LOCAL MP CONGRATULATES SOLIHULL CARERS ON SUCCESS

May 16, 2006 12:00 PM

Lorely Burt, Liberal Democrat MP for Solihull, has congratulated the Solihull Carers Centre on gaining an IMPACT award from GlaxoSmithKline.

The Solihull Carers Centre provides emotional support, information, advice, advocacy and assistance to those providing unpaid care for a relative, friend or disabled person in the Solihull area.

The annual awards were created to recognise and promote excellence in community healthcare. Award winners are decided using the IMPACT criteria of Innovation, Management, Partnership, Achievement, Community focus and Targeting need.

Celebrating the centre's success, Lorely Burt MP said,

"This award is a tribute to all the hard work done by all those who work to support those who are supporting others.

"The Solihull Carers Centre is a remarkable and impressive service. The support they give to carers in Solihull is so very important to helping families and loved ones stay together.

"This award will help the centre expand and brighten the lives of many more people."
