Lorely Burt, Liberal Democrat MP for Solihull, has joined the Badger Trust's condemnation of trials of snares being carried out on live badgers.
Animal Health Minister Ben Bradshaw stated in the House of Commons that DEFRA was currently running trials on body snares specifically designed to restrain badgers.
Commenting on the announcement, Lorely Burt MP said,
"I'm deeply disturbed by the Minister's announcement. The snaring any wild animal should be kept to a strict minimum and I've not been convinced of the need to snare badgers."
