Solihull's MP has quizzed the Minister for Housing and Planning, Yvette Cooper, about her plans for reviewing the definition of brownfield sites.
Under current planning rules, back gardens can be considered as brownfield sites for development meaning that it is much easier for blocks for flats and houses to be built on them.
Commenting on the Minister's response, Lorely Burt said,
"It is clear that she has totally failed to appreciate the strength of feeling throughout the country. People are sick of standing by helplessly as the character of leafy suburbs is destroyed by the unintended consequences of government planning rules.
"We will continue the fight through Lorely's law to halt this madness."
