Solihull MP, Lorely Burt is urging constituents who have reached the age of 60 on 24th September to register for their Winter Fuel Payment if they are not in receipt of pension benefits. Anyone who is 60 or more on this day is entitled to a £200 payment per household, and anyone who is 80 or more could be eligible for £300 per household.
The deadline for registration is 22nd September for payments to be received by Christmas this year.
Lorely Burt MP said:
"Winter Fuel Payments are available to everyone over 60 on 24th September and will be received automatically by those who are in receipt of pension benefits.
"If you are over 60 and not on pension benefits, you can still claim the payment by ringing 08459 151515, but you must ring by 22nd September at the latest to guarantee you get the money when you need it.
"I would urge all constituents who qualify by age to take up their entitlement to ensure they have enough money to keep themselves warm this winter."
