Solihull MP, Lorely Burt is encouraging community groups in Solihull to apply for awards of £1000 to support local environmental, urban renewal and conservation projects.
The cash is being offered through a new 'It's Your Community' fund launched recently by O2 in conjunction with the Conservation Foundation.
Individuals and groups can apply for awards of up to £1000 to support local environmental, urban renewal and conservation projects.
Lorely Burt MP said:
"This is a great opportunity for any school or community group that wants to improve their local environment to get the funds to do the job.
"The grant could cover expenditure such as hire of tools and equipment, or to purchase plants, paint, signs and materials for the project.
"Examples of projects that could receive funding include turning derelict land into a wildlife area or planting flowers to brighten a High Street. The applicants will be considered by an independent panel of judges established by the Conservation Foundation.
"Application forms and further details can be obtained at www.o2.com/cr/community_fund.asp or from an O2 store.
