The wheels on the bus are … falling off ... you can help!

November 29, 2006 4:38 PM

Last week Lorely Burt MP visited Lyndon House, a children's respite care home within Solihull Care Trust providing respite for children with learning disabilities and significant health needs.

Invited by the Friends of Lyndon House, a charity which helps to raise funds towards play equipment, outings for the children, and, currently, a new minibus - as the present one is on its last legs, Lorely Burt took the opportunity to launch this years Christmas raffle.

Each year Friends of Lyndon House hosts a Christmas party for the children and their families, where the draw of the raffle takes place, this year on Saturday 9 December 2006.

Raffle prizes available to be won include £100 cash, £125 voucher for a family portrait at Prestige photography, £50 John Lewis voucher, £50 worth of hair care including a hair dryer, straighteners and hair products, a ThinkTank ticket, an Ice Rink family ticket, M & S £10 voucher, a three night bed and breakfast break in Boscastle, Cornwall, plus many more exciting prizes.

Debra Touhey, Nurse Manager at Lyndon House said, "We would really appreciate your help in supporting our raffle either by donating a prize or buying raffle tickets. So don't delay call today and be in with a chance to win a prize."

Lorely Burt MP said: "Lyndon House do a superb job in giving fantastic care for the children and a much needed break for parents. Whilst Solihull Care Trust provide the funding to run Lyndon House, the Friends of Lyndon raise the money for the extras that make the difference".

Tickets cost 25p each, or £1 for a book of 5. If you would like to buy tickets, or if you could donate a raffle prize (or a tombola prize), please phone Lyndon House on 0121 742 5897.

If you are a resident of the Solihull constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
