Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt has been nominated for a Forum for Private Business award to be decided at an awards ceremony in Westminster this Wednesday evening.
Mrs Burt is the Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Small Business and has been put forward for the award for the 2008 Business-Friendly MP or MEP by Solihull businesswoman, Suzie Ankrett of Plum Personnel, for her efforts to champion small business over the past year.
Lorely said:
"I was delighted to be nominated for this prestigious award. Small business is the mainstay of our economy and I have been privileged to work with so many talented business people in Solihull and elsewhere.
"Running a small business isn't easy and owner-managers need all the help and support they can get to succeed. My background is in small business so it is good to be able to give a little back as part of my role as an MP, and in particular helping to get more women onto the ladder in business."
