MP TO MEET BOROUGH FOSTER CARERS

May 20, 2008 7:22 AM

Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt will meet local Foster Carers to promote fostering in Solihull as part of Foster Care Fortnight 2008, which runs from today until 25th May.

Mrs Burt will meet Paul Wilson of Solihull Foster Care Association along with other members to discuss fostering in the borough and to highlight the need for more foster carers locally.

Lorely said:

"There are already around 170 foster carers in Solihull but there is still a desperate need for more people to come forward, especially those who are willing to foster teenagers. Over 10,000 more foster carers are needed across the UK

"Fostering a child is both challenging and rewarding and can make a critical difference to the lives of the young people involved.

"If anyone feels they would like to find out more, please contact Paul Wilson, Chairperson of Solihull Foster Carers Association on 01564 779757 for further information. He would be delighted to hear from you."

If you are a resident of the Solihull constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
