Six-year-old Oak Cottage Primary School pupil, Oscar Smith was the winner of this year's Solihull schools competition to design a Christmas card for Lorely Burt MP.
The year 2 pupil finished his design at the eleventh hour and persuaded his mum to drive him to Lorely's office on the Warwick Road at 7pm to meet the deadline for entries.
Lorely's staff were working late and so Oscar was able to hand in his design which proved to be a winner.
Lorely visited the school yesterday and made a presentation of a certificate and book token to Oscar, whose proud mum, Emma saw him receive his award. Entrants from every school that took part will also receive certificates.
"It was very difficult to choose a winner from so many outstanding designs, but Oscar's entry was so joyous and colourful. We thought it would make the perfect design for my card this year," said Lorely.
Oscar's design will feature on 40,000 Christmas cards that will be delivered by party volunteers to homes across Solihull constituency.
