Lorely Burt MP said she was delighted with the response from constituents to her 'Quality of Life' survey delivered through doors across the constituency before Christmas.
"We have had a magnificent response," said Lorely, "with 1500 detailed returns that will help me focus on local priorities for better living in Solihull.
"It's very helpful to have these views, and a regular survey is just one way for me to keep in touch with local opinion.
"The recession is having a big impact on residents, with eight out of ten saying they have felt the pinch as a result of rising prices. Now, with deflation rather than inflation the biggest danger, it is savings and investments, job losses and mortgage payments that are causing the greatest concern.
"What is interesting is that constituents have lost none of their concern for the environment despite it having slipped off the agenda for the Conservatives in Westminster.
"A resounding 97% still support my campaign for legislation to protect green space, and 87% said they agree with plans to cut income tax by taxing pollution instead.
"Public transport is still high on the agenda with 45% using it regularly. Peoples' top concerns are frequency, reliability, price and safety, with cleanliness and more routes also featuring on the 'most wanted' list.
"I will be taking up these and many other issues on behalf of constituents as soon as we have completed a full analysis of the results. In the meantime, I wanted to say thank you to all the volunteer survey deliverers and everyone who completed and posted back the survey."
