Solihull Sixth Form College students visit House of Commons

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 1st Jul 2005

Forty-five politics students and staff from Solihull Sixth Form College visited the House of Commons last week to see how government works in Westminster.

They were welcomed to the Commons by Solihull's newly elected MP, Lorely Burt, who conducted a lively question and answer session with students in Westminster Hall.

"I was delighted to welcome such a large party of politics students from Solihull, and found their questions challenging and stimulating. I am sure that some will go on to take up public office themselves in future years," said Mrs Burt.

Lorely joined Solihull Sixth Form students for a photograph within the grounds of the Palace of Westminster before they departed.
