Solihull MP, Lorely Burt presents a cheque for £10,000 to Islamic Relief

Solihull MP, Lorely Burt, presented a cheque for £10,000 to Islamic Relief last night (Sunday), for victims of the earthquake in Pakistan. The money was raised in less than a week by members of Solihull Muslim Community Association. Donations continue to flood in to help victims in the more remote regions where aid workers have yet to reach.

The presentation took place at St Peter's Roman Catholic School in Solihull. The event took place as part of the Association's celebrations to mark the end of Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting.

"Muslims in Solihull have been so generous in their giving towards earthquake victims in Pakistan" says Solihull Member of Parliament Lorely Burt. "It is a privilege to make the presentation on their behalf to an organisation like Islamic Relief, which I know helps people in need throughout the world, regardless of their religious background."
