Climate Change group thanks Solihull Member of Parliament for support6.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 17th Nov 2005
The Sustainable Energy Partnership, representing all the major environmental and 'fuel poverty' groups, has written thanking Lorely Burt MP for her support in Parliament for The Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Bill, which passed it's second reading last week. Partnership Organiser, Ron Bailey said "It was absolutely vital that this Bill made progress, and we appreciate the effort made by over 100 MPs to support the Bill last Friday. This is exactly the example that MPs need to set - action not fine words. We thank Lorely for making this commitment to the environment and to ending fuel poverty." Lorely Burt MP said: "Emissions from CO2 continue to increase and rising energy prices will mean that even more people will suffer from cold homes and fuel poverty this winter. This Bill contains practical measures to deal with both problems."
