HELP AT HAND FOR DOG THEFT - BURT12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 18th Jul 2006 Member of Parliament for Solihull Lorely Burt spoke last night at an Animal Welfare Group meeting about Dog Theft, hosted by Dog Theft Action. Lorely spoke on behalf of 'Pet Search' a Solihull based organisation founded in 1990 which now has over 330 divisions country-wide. She said: "Dog theft is a big problem, all sorts of dogs and puppies get stolen; and no dog is safe. Collar and tag isn't enough: your dog should be fitted with a micro chip and vets should make a practise of scanning new doggie patients. Where possible never leave your dog alone in the car or tied up outside shops." Should you suspect that your pet has been stolen or is lost and want to contact Pet Search then call 0121 743 4133 or log onto www.ukpetsearch.freeuk.com, this service is totally free and always has been.
