Her plea comes after travellers appear to have been giving the council and police the run around by moving from site to site.
"I have been told that travellers are today occupying parkland off Monkspath Hall Road, having previously moved from there to Tudor Grange Park and then Chelmsley Wood.
"This is the third time in about a year that Hillfield Park has been occupied, and yet nothing seems to have been done to stop vehicles pulling on to the site. Once they are on, council and police officers are given the run around because they must go through statutory welfare checks, then three days notice to quit followed by court proceedings. Before the deadline expires the travellers simply move to another site and the whole process has to start all over again. Meanwhile the park is lost as a public amenity and taxpayers foot the bill for the clean up and damage caused.
"I understand that the council is now seeking permanent exclusion orders against particular groups of travellers and sincerely hope this will prove successful in stopping the abuse."
