Solihull MP, Lorely Burt has today welcomed the decision by the Schools Adjudicator to reject the proposal to close St James' Junior School.

Mrs Burt said

"I am delighted at the decision for this wonderful little school, which is truly at the heart of Shirley. It maintains the right diversity of provision of schooling. I have supported St James School, as I have all the schools in Shirley, and I will always do so."

Liberal Democrat Councillor Simon Slater, commented,

"This is great news for everyone who is involved with St. James' school and is a credit to all those parents, governors, and concerned residents who have actively campaigned and fought to keep the school open."
