She called on the council to provide more containers and more sites, and was pleased to see that the number of containers available for recycling this morning, just one week later, had quadrupled to four.
"I was please to see that when I turned up to recycle my plastic bottles and cartons this morning, there was a tidy recycling area and, even though the containers were loaded, there was enough capacity to cope with the weekend visits.
"Four is much better than one, and it's pleasing to note that sometimes the council does listen.
"This just goes to show how much potential there is for doorstep recycling in Solihull. Doorstep recycling of plastics and cartons should be introduced sooner rather than later, because it is clearly what residents want to do and it is good for the environment."
