LIBERAL DEMOCRATS TO ATTEND SPRING CONFERENCE12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 3rd Mar 2008 Solihull Liberal Democrats are heading to Liverpool next weekend for the party's spring conference. Liberal Democrats from across the country will be meeting in the city from 7th to 9th March. Lorely Burt MP will lead the team from Solihull. Lorely Burt MP said: "We are looking forward to this conference and to voting in important policy debates on health, housing, education and defence. "Nick Clegg will be making his first conference speech as Leader of the Liberal Democrats and the party's Shadow Chancellor, Vince Cable MP, will also be speaking. "Key proposals on health and education will help tackle poor funding for schools in Solihull and the NHS postcode lottery by introducing a guaranteed personal entitlement for treatment within a set time. Failure to deliver will give patients the right to get appropriate treatment from the private sector, charged to the NHS." Liberal Democrats hold two national conferences a year, the first in March and the main one in September.
