The funds are being allocated to create and support play areas, community gardens, parks, wildlife areas, ponds, courts, and village greens. Further information can be found on the CommunitySpaces website at http://www.community-spaces.org.uk Commenting, Lorely Burt said: "I'm keen that local groups across the borough should take advantage of the opportunity for lottery funding. "This is a great opportunity to preserve and enhance our green open spaces for the benefit of all ages and for generations to come. "We have suffered from the loss of parkland in recent years and this is a great opportunity to make the very best of other areas. "I am more than happy to lend my support to this scheme."
