The campaign focuses on the need for the Government to help the beleaguered construction industry by creating a new business environment framework in which they can work. The campaign's ten point manifesto includes a plea to get banks lending to small businesses again; a government strategy to refurbish the country's 26 million homes to make them more energy efficient; a cut in VAT to 5 per cent for property maintenance; and a defined timetable to complete the Government's planned investment in new schools and hospitals.
"I was delighted to be able to attend the launch of this vitally important campaign. I know from talking to builders in my constituency just how bad things are for them at the moment. As an MP I will be doing all I can in the coming weeks and months to help the UK construction industry survive."
